Breaking through a cycle by letting go of control…

Letting go of control applies to big life goals and changes just as much as to our daily little fights and struggles.

Forcing outcomes instead of allowing for a natural flow, just to feel in control of a situation is exactly what causes the opposite effect that we actually want.

How many of you have been caught in a repetitive cycle that seems to be impossible to break up? Trying to be on the top of it, trying to navigate it just to feel in control. Doing great for a couple of days, feeling good and strong, almost boosted. But somehow losing it again and falling back into the same position, or even deeper in it. Ending up feeling drained, fed up, hopeless and unmotivated. Then kicking back again, steering the wheel and riding it with great confidence, only to find yourself ridden over. Again and again and again…

But how to overcome this? How to break the cycle? How to break through?

You have to ask yourself, what is it that I am trying to control? Because it is different from person to person.

Some of us might be trapped in a behavioural loop, where an unhealthy habit plays a big part.

Some of us might be longing for validation, acceptance, appreciation, approval, accountability, etc.

Some of us might be experiencing a cycle of burnout.

Ending with an unhealthy habit rarely happens when triggers are present. To break this cycle, it is important to acknowledge that we should not try to control triggers, but we should overcome them. A little change in routine, where this outcome will not be forced but naturally unfolded, will bring the result with ease.

To break a cycle that affects our lives, it is important to acknowledge that it is unhealthy and toxic to live and establish quality of life on how others perceive us. Who we are depends on us, not on others opinion about us. Quality of life depends on relationship we have with ourself, not on a relationship others have with us. Acceptance has to come from within, rather than being expected from external world.

When we get to the burnout stage, it is necessary to acknowledge that we’re forcing to remain in life situation that we don’t actually want to be in. Trying to control damage that is beyond repair, instead of letting it be and move on.

There are ways to escape from a loop that we feel trapped in. All that it takes is to stop trying to be in control of an outcome. Instead of fighting triggers, find a way to overcome them with ease. Instead of pushing through with a power, allow for the flow to carry us naturally. Using our strength and willpower instead of wasting it.❤️🍀
